Head of Market Access & Public Affairs

As the Head of Market Access (MA) & Public Affairs you are responsible for the overall MA strategy and implementation of the regional MA strategies by tailoring the tools and tactics to local market needs in order to achieve optimal access. You also develop and implement the local Public Affairs (PA) strategy.
You lead your team to successfully identify, engage, build and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders that are needed for a flawless execution of the Market Access Strategy and you are also responsible for the pricing: pricing for new products, gross price development and net price development.

Moreover, the Head of MA & PA represents MA in the Human Pharma Committee (HPC), supports the General Manager / Head of Human Pharma to make optimal Business Decisions and feeds relevant market information to regional Market Access Team.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement key account projects with payer-like accounts
  • Implement trade strategy and tactics to ensure profitability
  • Lead expertise in the healthcare and political environment and competitive landscape to advise and execute on actions to address national, regional and local opportunities and threats
  • Implement brand-specific PR strategy, successful media relationship management and establishing crisis management process
  • Accountable for cross-functional BI-internal trade, commercial contract and tendering strategy and implementation of activities
  • Provide internal strategic advice about gaining, enlarging and maintaining access of all pipeline / portfolio products
  • Monitor changes in healthcare environment and competitive landscape and translate into business action and strategy
  • Support other internal business functions (marketing, sales, finance), and provide relevant data when appropriate
  • Provide coaching, training and guidance to the MA team
  • Responsible for brands not in promotion (supply chain, volume, stock)
  • Set up Real World Evidence data gathering

 

Requirements and qualifications:

  • Master Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Medicine or Medical Sciences
  • At least 6 years of experience in health economics, outcomes research, pricing, reimbursement and Health Technology Assessments (HTA) in a pharmaceutical company
  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in Market Access: able to engage the team and the organization in Market Access topics
  • Excellent understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, health care systems and payer structures in Norway
  • Experience with real world evidence projects
  • Excellent command of both the Norwegian and English language
  • Entrepreneurial thinking with track record of delivering value to the business
  • Analytic, result oriented and creative
  • Strong focus on developing customer relations
  • Excellent cross-functional communication, collaboration and negotiation skills
