Scientist in Technology Development

We are looking for a candidate with an attitude for innovation, new technologies, teamwork across functions and pragmatic problem-solving skills.

Technology Development in Product Supply Operations, Bayer AS is a key contributor to Bayer’s development of new molecular imaging agents and targeted radiopharmaceutical therapy (TRT) products. Our focus is internal and external development of formulations, manufacturing processes and concepts for both clinical and commercial scale manufacturing. Furthermore, we are responsible for product and process transfers to internationally selected Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) where we verify and support their performance.

The development of our new products is organized in dedicated, global technical development teams and currently we focus on a differentiated platform for a broad range of new imaging agents and TRT products. The CMO technology transfers, manufacture and supply is managed by dedicated joint cross-functional teams, wherein close collaboration, teamwork, and interaction with internal and external stakeholders is key.

Your tasks and responsibilities

The Scientist candidate should optimally prove a track record from (radio)pharmaceutical industry, with desired skills from scientific laboratory work, formulation, analytical (e.g. HPLC) and/or aseptic manufacturing process development projects, CMO management, GMP and regulatory documentation.

The selected candidate will lead and practically contribute to various formulation and process development studies and support regulatory submissions being part of technical project teams. The candidate will also support CMO technology transfers, clinical manufacture and supply being part of CMO technology transfer and alliance teams.

Who you are

  • M.Sc. in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Radiochemistry, Biotechnology, Life Sciences or related fields such as process engineering or chemical engineering
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant work experience with radioactive imaging agents and radiopharmaceutical products or within the pharmaceutical industry is desirable but not mandatory
  • Laboratory experience is mandatory, and experience in handling radioactive materials and knowledge of radio-detection methodologies and analytical techniques (e.g. HPLC) is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully plan and prioritize activities within complex projects and deliver to agreed timelines. A skill in smart study design (e.g., Design-of-Experiments) is an advantage
  • Attention to, and knowledge of, quality (GLP/GMP/GEP/GAMP) is essential
  • Strong communication and team working skills is required to ensure that multiple tasks in international project teams can be handled.
  • Motivated for cross-functional project teamwork, including laboratory work
  • Being focused on people skills and collaboration with internal and external partners and project members while maintaining an enthusiastic, flexible and innovative performance
  • Communicate fluently oral and written in Norwegian and English at a scientific level
    Being flexible, self-driven and accurate with the ability to adapt to changing priorities dealing with high complexity is important
